PORTFOLIO
1. Free online digital portfolio
You will be working on many projects this year. It’s a good idea to have a place to keep your best work. You never know- someone might hire you to work on a website!

You can choose the program you would like to use for your online portfolio.
**You will add screen shots of your work and a description**
To take a screenshot:
– Open up your web file or webpage
– Adjust it so it’s exactly how you want it to look
– Hit the “PrintScrn” button on your keyboard. The button basically takes a picture of whatever is on your screen.
– You will likely want to crop and edit the photo. To do this you will need to use some kind of photo editing program such as Microsoft Photo Editor, Photoshop, Picasa Web Albums, or an online application to help you do this. A suggestion: Picnik (free photo editing), Gimp, Pixlr.
– Repeat this several times as necessary to get a few different photos of your best work.
Finally, click add to browse for your image and add it to your project
Last steps: choose a layout to display your work and add a description (what it is, a link if the site is live, name, etc.)
Important: since your work is not yet live online you can just write “in development.”
This is just practice. You don’t have to keep this project in your online portfolio. As you do other work in class this year you can add that and delete stuff in your portfolio you no longer want displayed.
